Sis-cily 2027: A Food Tour
October 22 - 30, 2027
Sicily, Italy
Sign ups open January 9, 2027
Day 1: Benvenuti in Sicilia!
Arrive in Palermo- YOU MADE IT TO SICILY!
We'll meet for the first time in Palermo, where Norman palaces, Arab domes, and Baroque churches all somehow share the same street name? You’ll settle into the hotel, freshen up and get ready to meet your sisters for the week ahead!
Evening:
We're throwing a welcome dinner with a twist because it's one of your hosts’ BIRTHDAY! Don't be surprised if there's a birthday candle (or 27) involved. 🎂
Day 2: Market Tour, Palermo
Morning:
We'll spend our first full day together wandering through Palermo's legendary markets. Expect shouting vendors, mountains of fresh produce, giant swordfish, and street food you'll be thinking about for years (or until tomorrow when we eat more incredible food).
Evening: Free evening in Palermo! We’d recommend dropping by the the Orto Botanico, Palermo's lush botanical garden, finding a rooftop aperitivo, or just getting lost & found in the old town… your call.
Day 3: Buongiorno Palermo, Buona Notte Cefalu
Morning:
Enjoy a your last morning in Palermo at your own pace. Sleep in, grab an espresso, or bop through some shops. No agenda, no rush.
Afternoon:
We'll travel together by private bus to Cefalù, this golden seaside town located beneath a dramatic cliff, with a gorgeous cathedral that you CAN’T miss (pictured here… trust that it’s even more beautiful in real life).
Evening:
We’ll have time to explore the town and get ready for dinner which will be at the hotel! And after… have you ever tried gelato on the beach?
Day 4: Out on the Water, Cefalu
Morning:
Boat tour and fishing trip along the Cefalù coast! This is arguable Sicily from the best angle. Don’t worry if fishing isn’t your thing, we’ll need SOMEONE to soak up the sun on the deck. Still, we encourage our sisters to try new experiences so we hope you’ll give it a whirl at least once! Especially because whatever we catch will be served for lunch.
Evening:
Free time to explore Cefalù. Bop through the old town, spend the evening on the beach, hike the Cefalù rock, or do all three! Up to you!
Day 5: Olive Harvest, Fiumefreddo
Morning:
It’s harvest season! We'll drive inland to Fiumefreddo for something truly special- a visit to a local family's home and their orto (garden). Grab a sister and pick some olives, then we’ll sit down for a homemade lunch with the family themselves. This is Sicily the way most visitors never get to see it! It’s slower, authentic, and completely Italian.
Evening:
Travel to Catania, our home base for the rest of the trip, located right in the shadow of Mount Etna. The evening is free for you to get your first taste of the city. We suggest grabbing dinner near Piazza Duomo or wherever the streets take you.
Day 6: Fresh Fish & Volcanic Views, Catania
Morning:
Starting the day with a walking tour of Catania! No spoilers, but, we’ll visit the duomo, learn who influenced Sicilian culture and traditions, and of course, drop by the FISH MARKET! We’ll eat lunch together at the market.
Optional: Mt. Etna Climbing Excursion! Rather than a true hike, this excursion will take you by bus/cable car/jeep up the side of Mt. Etna to see a crater and get pretty close to the mouth of the volcano. And if you see lava, RUN!
(2.5 hours, 200 euros)
Evening:
Whether you’re climbing Mt. Etna or not, the evening is all yours. Find a new dinner spot, spend your time in a new piazza, and definitely try another gelato flavor (we recommend pistachio).
Day 7: Pistachio Factory & Wine Tasting, Catania
Morning:
By Day 7 we HOPE you’re still hungry for more Sicilian delicacies! We’ll spend the morning at a pistachio factory learning about and tasting all things “pistacchio.” Then, we’ll drive just 30 min up the volcanic hills of Etna to taste wine grown in some of the most unique soil on earth… literally, it's lava rock.
Optional: Afternoon Pastry tour through Catania. You’re trying cannoli, granita, brioche col tuppo… and maybe you should wear stretchy pants!?
Evening:
This is your last free evening in Catania! You could check out the Greco-Roman amphitheater tucked behind a local home, bop by the water, or finish your souvenir shopping… just don’t bring gelato back to the states!
Day 8: Citrus Farm in Noto & One Last Night Together
Morning:
Before our day trip to Noto, we’ll first visit a local citrus farm to tour the groves, and try their fresh seasonal fruit. Then we’ll drive down to Noto, one of Sicily's most stunning Baroque towns. We’ll stay here for lunch together!
Afternoon:
Free afternoon to pack and rest or revisit a favorite spot one more time.
Evening:
Final dinner together SADLY. We’ll share one last plate of something delicious, our favorite memories from the trip, and maybe you’ll share an outfit with your new sis. You’ll have to share your high low buffalo from the trip before we say arrivederci!
Day 9: Ciao for now!
Safe travels from Catania to the U.S! Until the next trip, sisters!

Meet Your Travel Hosts
Ciao! It’s Hannah & Emily!
We’re the sister duo behind Sister Circle Travels and your hosts for Sis-ily 2027: A Food Tour.
Hannah brings 10 years of living in and traveling through Italy (plus her prized Italian citizenship) to every trip we build. She uses her magical Italian powers to balance our itineraries between food, culture, history, FUN, and logistics that make sense. Emily has spent plenty of time exploring Italy, and her marketing background means seamless communication between sisters all over the globe. Together, with our sisterly love and laughs, and desire to share Italy with you, is everything you need for the trip of a lifetime.
We’re THRILLED to host our second group trip, this time, through the island of Sicily! We chose this region for its depth of culture, incredible water experiences, and, honestly, the food alone. We can’t wait to taste our way through Sicily with you in October.
Our Girl’s Trips are for women of all ages. Bring your sister, your bestie, or come solo. Everyone who joins our Travel Circle becomes family, and we’re counting down the days till we can share “Sis-cily” with you!
